Installed new 800 efi header pipe and pure polaris performance muffler on my 2005 700 efi and the muffler does not extend pass the rear fender and is causing the fender to melt, anybody else do this and have a solution. bought this as a kit from a polaris dealer online--(Breese lawn and Garden)---any help out there---thanks

I installed the 800 header but still have the stock muffler so sorry I can't help you there. I noticed you have a 800 primary in your sig. did it help?

yes feels much more spunky from the start, using old 700 spring and weights, want to try a little heavier weight to see how it does or reacts

I would clean the underside of your fender very well with soap and water and then with some alcohol. Then you can buy some heat tape and put on the underside of your fender and that will take care of your problem. You can get the high temp heat tape at most of your autoparts places.

I had a similar problem on a suzuki and I used the heat tape and it took care of the problem. I got in on a roll at Pep Boys

I agree use the "chrome" heat tape sold at any autoparts store for around $5 a roll.

How does it sound now compared to stock??? I ordered the 800 header, but haven't installed it yet. I'm still trying to decide if I should just use the stock muffler, or spend the extra doe for the duel 800 mufflers... I have a rear bumper now too, so clearance may be a problem for the pure polaris/WB silencer. Also, per Rick Ritter, the guy at Dalton has tested different mufflers on the twins and the stock
muffler gave them the most performance.....

DOES NOT SOUND ANY LOUDER THAN STOCK NOW, IT DOES HAVE THOSE PLATES IN THE POLARIS MUFFLER TO ADJUST WITH, BUT NOT SURE HOW THAT WORKS???? WAS CONSIDERING THE DUAL POLARIS 800 MUFFLERS ALSO BUT MIGHT BE EASIER TO JUST BUY THE 800 THEN
