i personally dont think so. first of all i dont like the bumper on it, i dont like the wide ratio gears (i am a dunes guy, so i like the bottom end hit on the TLD), i dont like how it comes stock with the pure polaris (dont get me wrong its a great pipe, except i like the HMF more) and i dont like how its white. i like the orange, because it stands out. But dont get the wrong impression, the LE is great and i like that one a lot too, but the TLD just suits my style.

I pay $5800 less tax for TLD and if the deal would of had LE, would been no dealing down. It would been $6700 plus tax. So I fig I got $1000 to make a LE out of mine TLD. There is only two thing the color and the trans. The only add on is the $250 muffler and for $80 get a aftermarket bumper. Now who is a head. JMO.

It really boils down to which trans you prefer and what kind of deal you can find. The LE's will carry a higher price due to it being an LE but it does have the extra's on it. For me I want the wide ratio trans and will leave all the added extra's on it, plus I know I will get a decent price so I'm just waiting for it to show up at my dealer.

The TLD has close gear ratio.......to deliver greater roll-on acceleration.

The LE and the Std Pred has the same tranny, they are just like the 03 & 04 tranny, but they have the rachet style shifting which means they shift alot better then the 03 & 04.

I am seriously thinking of buying a predator to add to my collection and originally I was thinking about the white LE but to be honest I agree with cr125predator in that I don't like the bumper, gear ratio or the pure polaris silencer. I basically only like the white plastic with flame graphics, the radial tires and the aluminum fox shocks. I think my best choice would be to go with a standard 500 predator due to all the accessories I want to add. I would get the HMF full exhaust with color silencer, the new Fullbore plastic, possibly either the Kenda Klaw tires or Mudlite tires, DG front guard and rear six pack rack, K&N air filter etc. the fullbore plastic for the predators covers the gap which the stock plastic leaves open, they come in red/orange/blue/yellow/silver/black and white. so technically I could get the white fullbore plastic and order the LE flame graphics.

I just came home today with a new 05 sportsman 500 HO limted edition, wow what a machine, i cant wait to test it out tomorrow, i was surprised at how big it is yet how comfortable it feels, took a while to shop around for it, most places wanted $7400 out the door and i got it for $5800 and a trade in on my old '95 sportsman ($1000) which i was very happy with. We'll see how she holds up once i break er in, cant wait !!

The predator has two type of trans setup.

The Le has a STD trans like the red Predator. The TLD gears 2,3,4 are close together. This means you shift more. Higher rev means more power to the wheels. You use the power bandwidth more efficient. When it comes to 4 and 5 gear they are wider and you rev higher to not loose and hp. I got the TLD do to I am not going to use the 5 gear a lot. I need the 1-4 on the trails and not to blow mine ride friend away when he is riding. His atv only go 45 mph max. The only time I will use the 5 gear when it flat and wide open. I hope, I am say this right. This is how I am looking at it. Please corrent me if I am wrong. One thing you can look in to buy the red Predator and having the shop put on the Fox shocks like the TLD and LE. Then you only would be down not have the tires. By save the money, you can spend the money on upgrade you want to do. In mine eye the Le should came with nerf bars for that price. Then that would be a package to get!
