Lentech's 700SP turbo up and running!!
#1
Got it running on Saturday ,...... we still don't have the intercooler completed and just have a temporary pipe installed between the turbo and the carb but could'nt wait another 2 weeks
Initially , had a few carb glitches but have got it pretty much worked out
We ended up drilling a hole intersecting the carb air inlet to the bowl vent to get it solved , and the #190 main jet was'nt anywhere near big enough !!!
It starts well , runs quiet , has just as good throttle response , and pulls hard in the mid range ,...... in a few test runs I can best compare by saying it seems to get 60 MPH as quick as it did to 50 before , only now when cruising at 60 you can honestly punch it and it actually pulls pretty good given that speed , I didn't want to push it hard for too long till I can confirm the A/F ratio is close , just to be safe were running 7 psi boost on race gas [ 114 octane ]
More to follow later ,
Some more Pics up later today !

Power ? ,when all is said and done were looking 75-80 hp , we'll dyno it when we get it a little better dialed in
Cost ? , I don't know a total yet , i'll probibly have a couple of thousand in parts in it plus a wack of time !

No , we did,nt get a baseline ,..... I did notice on the Aaen perf site the 700 produced 45hp stock [ at the crank ]
Because we have the access , were going to try to put it on a chassis dyno with and without the turbo
For the turbo set up , I also went back to the stock 700 34mm carb , base ignition timing setting , and removed the 800 pipe as well
Sales ???????.............. don't know , there's alot left to prove before that can even be considered

That' kinda why I asked about the baseline dyno. If you run one macine on ten different dynos your going to get ten different numbers. Some may be close, but if you use the same dyno for a baseline you get a better idea of what net HP will be. I know I'm not telling you anything new, but I'm guessing numbers posted on all of these aftermarket companies are going to be the best run they had and may not even be repeatable.

lentech, if you really do a nice job on this and it works great, you could make it a kit and sell it for a butload of money. id think about investing in one for my 8
