Wife has a "00" 500 Magnum with about 700 miles on it. Sorry to say it is up for sale. We did the Piaute Trail last week, 330 miles. I rode my 500 Xplorer most of the time but got on hers for about 50 miles. Can't explain the difference in the IRS between the two machines after riding all day. 2 riding friends were riding new Rubys and got exhausted also. Guess maybe we are all light weights . New Sportsman HO will be in the garage soon and I will be chomping at the bits for the 700. If it desn't come to pass I'll get the 500 HO.

784 miles with no expense other than one oil change and filter.

Reliablity great so far, good ride. 25 mpg.

(Toughen up ChopperBill, or do you just want the 2001 H.O.? hehehe)

If you want to talk about exhaustion, spend some time behind the bars of a Honda 450. Now that is a workout!.

Oops forgot the positive part, sorry. The 500 Magnum has better trail manners and seems to be "crisper" and sportier in high speed turns. My 500 IRS seems to "whallor" (is that a word?) in the dips at higher speeds. Could be the extra wieght of the winch and other gear.
