My Sportsman 400 is tearing the b'jesus out of the lawn.

Is there any way to add the Turf Mode (unlock the rear diff) ?

Turf tires aren't really an option - I ride out my back gate to the gravel pit, so I just need to be able to unlock the rear diff when I'm on the grass.

I don't have an answer, but this would be a great option for me also. I was kinda hoping, before I saw the non-ATP models in person, that the Turf mode was on all AWD Polaris models. If it's just electronics and a switch to change out, I'm all about doing this, also.

 

I've emailed Polaris and I've been searching other websites, but I can't find much info.

I'm not even sure if it's an actual differential. It is kinda small...

 

Unfortuantly due to the design the "turf mode" is a mechanically different beast. Polaris "differentials" are not really differentials. Instead they are a spool style setup. No differential action can happen in them. Thats awsome for max traction that we all love but it is hard on the grass. I would imagine that you would need the tranny out of a ATP to make this work on any other polaris.
