Default 700 CV Joint Boot Question

I am replacing my torn cv joint boots on my 700 but I am having problems with the snap rings that tighten around the boot...Are there any special tools or a certain model plier that will help? I bought a snap ring plier from home depot but it is not going the trick.......

What type of pliers do you have are they the ear type or earless? If you are putting oem boots back on you are going to need the earless pliers for the clamps. I bought mine at a fairly large auto parts place and paid $15 and they work very well.

Default 700 CV Joint Boot Question

Hi Scott,
If you are using band type you'll want to use these:

or

If you are using pinch type bands were you need the crimp the area of the band that sticks up I use tile snips or endsnips like these:

If you need any pointers PM me and I'd be glad to help.
Thanks,
Danny
