Got a 2001 500 HO sportsman, wondering if I could throw paddles on the rear and go just as good if not better in the sand. I know I can't turn of the Four wheel drive because of the ratio on the tire size.

You can do it, i had the GBC Paddlemasters but they are not nesessary.
Just let out another pound or two of air.
Run about 3 lbs.
