Pure Polaris Beast in testing stage
My project ATV in now running and in the testing stage. I took a 400 sport and put a 140 hp Polaris snowmobile engine in it. There is a pic of it in my pictures. I need to post some more now that it is closer to being done. It has awesome power now all I need to figure out is how to get the power to the ground. My buddie was doing burnouts in the road Friday night. It has no problem smoking the tires whenever you want. I am planning on going to St Joe State park on Saturday of Memorial weekend to run my first drag races if anyone is interested. This ATV is 100 % POLARIS. Hopefully it will make some good runs for us POLARIS people.

Ok, so I've looked at your pics before and didn't say anything. But now I've gotta. You show a '96 550 Indy Lite. First,it's an XLT not an Indy Lite. XLT stands for Xtra Lite Triple. The Indy Lite was a little 340 sled. A '96 XLT is 600cc. Before they were 600, the XLT was 580. Where did 550 come from? One picture you said about 110hp with triple pipes (about what you'd get with a stock 600 with pipes.) How is it now 140? That would take way more money than it's worth. It would be cheaper to buy a wrecked 800XC. I've got a '99 XLT and while I love the triple in a sled, a 600 Liberty twin is about 120hp stock (versus about 90) and would be a lot easier to fit. And I hope you've got the updated crank bearings and oil line, or all your hard work might go up in smoke.

Yes you are correct. I know absolutely nothing about snowmobiles. It is an Indy XLT the person I bought it from told me it was an indy lite 550. Yes it is a 600 actually it's 580cc. 110 hp is what I was told it was stock and 140 was what the place that made the pipes said it would produce at 8500 rpm. I really don't know just going by what I have been told by others. Still 110 with the pipes should be plenty to play with. I need to change my pics to stop the confusion you are not the first person to tell me that it is not an indy lite.
