600?
#1
My friend has a Sportsman 600 (04 I think) and just bought some Mud lites for it, now the stock tires spit up mud like crazy, he went a bit bigger tire size (not sure what size though)so any of you 600 owners can imagine the mud shower he is expecting from these, so my question is are there and aftermarket fender flares available for these bikes? And where can he get them, he talked to the dealer here and he didnt know of any. Thanks for any help.

Mud shower???? With the stockers???? Never had that problem with mine. Or should I say, not near as bad as my racer.
I depends on how wide he went. If he went with the 10"er's of the front, he will have more mud flying up at him. The tires will also be rubbing on his frame. Even the 9"er's will rub. Sucks!
I have seen people use the plastic that stock car racers use and make their own extensions. They would remove the stock mud flaps and bolt these to the fender. You can go as wide as you want and it is cheap. My buddy purchase a small roll of it for like $15. He was able to do all 4 wheels and still had some left over. Very durable stuff and you can get it any color.
Just remember if you go wider, you will be ripping them off frequently.

I have the 27-9-12 Mudlites on the front and the 27-12-12 Mudlites on the rear and get alot of mud flinging on me, it's just something to be expected with the larger tires I guess. I have heard of alot of guys using that black gardening border that you put around shrubs and flowers ect.

I have 26-10 12 mudlites on the front and 26-12-12 on the rear. Got tired of being covered with mud so I ordered the mud skirts for my 04 Sportsman 600. They work MUCH Better than the OEM ones. The polaris part #'s are 2872316 for the fronts and 2872317 for the rears. They are $100 for each set, but well worth it. Hope this helps.

What are you talkin about? I have 10" wide tires on stock wheels on the front of my 600 w/ plenty of space. It doesnt even come close to rubbing.
Anyway, yeah I get a little mud slung up on me, even with fender flairs. It usually gets me off the back tire. I'm really careful when checkin cows, becouse when your in the pasture, its not mud gettin slung
