oil change on 500

Iwas wondering aboout the oil screen on the oil tank in a 05 sportsmen 500. Should you or do you have to clean it at every oil change?

I cleaned mine during the first oil change but I will never do it again. Seems like a waste of time and energy. How many times do people clean their oil pump pickup on their cars...Never

I agree with Ed99 did it once, even cut a notch in my good socket to get it off. Unless something falls in the oil tank I don't see the purpose......

I don't drain the sump either. It's truely not worth it for the small amount of oil that you get out. Dump the tank and refill it then call it good. I've got over 3K miles like this with no problems.
