Well we just got back from a trip to southern Kentucky, The baddest hill there was getting some attention from a Kawi Praire 650 & a 700 EFI Sportsman.
The group of 24 riders that we went with didn't have the NUTTZZ to climb it. ( This tells you how steep the hill was )
Run # 1
700 Sportsman - made it easily.
650 Praire -made it easily.
Run # 2
700 Sportsman - Landed sideways just past the hump. This bike was a 2004 with 370 mile son it.
*** Then a big Crash Happened --After 10 barrel rolls, & hitting a tree on the way to the ground it was completely totaled.
All of the racks, rack extensions, headlights, pod. instruments wore rippped off, all of the a arms are twisted, front skid plate & all of the plastics is busted. Some of the tires were blown, rims were bent, all of the handle bar stuff took a beating too.
The best part was yet to come, after flipping it right side up, working on the tires, & picking the parts up the rider then started it up & drove/limped it back to the truck.
The rider escaped uninjured, not even a scratch. All he said was wow, I am glad I have insurance.

Insurance is a great thing. When I was getting mine I asked the rep. (a Family member) "Now if I just run into a tree and total this thing, you guys pay it off right?" and she said, "That's the way it works."
That feels good.

something very close to that almost happened to my buddy and his 04 700 this weekend. i had to go around the hill and throw my winch cable to him and winch him up to keep the front end on the ground as he rode the front rake. after we got back to the rest of the group, he still said he could have made it. don't think so buddy.
but i managed to ripe the right front fender and flare off and broke both foot boards this weekend. but found some slightly used plastic on ebay and am getting ready to order some skid plates and have a plan on making a skid plate for the foot boards.

I would say the best part was the rider walked away unhurt.
Was he wearing a helmet?
Quauds can always be replaced.
Walking away with your life

Glad no body was hurt. If the insurance pays off I sure would like to buy the salvage to transplant the driveline into my scrambler. WOW. 700 EFI Scrambler. That would be fun.
