I was thinking of buying a 40mm carb off a 500 H.O. and putting it on my 600. How do i install it after i get it. Also i was thinking of buying a new spring for my clutch for nice low end (for wheelies and such ) that wont effect my top end. Would a jet kit for the 40mm carrb help alot too? thanks.

I put in the Polaris gray w/white stripe primary spring. It's a nice upgrade. It doesn't affect top end any, but it launches stronger. It won't wheelie in High for me, maybe because of it's weight, since I have a Warn and a bruchgaurd on front, but in Low, it'll stand it up straight. Plus it's only $18.

Hello Polaris600 you will first need to buy one of these so the choke cable will screw in. The throttle cable will also need a spacer like a small nut to keep it from screwing to far in. You will need to redrill your carb mount for the H.O carb it real easy and its only 2 small holes. The 40mm carb will fit it to your stock boots its alittle hard the first time but if you use some liquid soap to lube it up it will go right in. For the jetting I have the pilot screw 3 turns out clip on the needle the 3rd or 4th notch down and a 170 main jet.

I was talking with another person on this forum about the 40mm carb. He said it was very difficult to tune in properly. He suggested buying a 36mm pumper carb by mikuni instead of the 40mm. I wasn't sure because you seem to have had no trouble with it. I really want the power increase, but will it be worth it if i have to mess around a lot with the tuning of it? Thanks

About the tuning in...could I bring it to a local dealer and have them do it to my specs? Or, would it be easier for me to mess around with the jets and needle myself?? I was tghinking about adding a SP800 intake and K&N air filter. Would this mess up the jetting. Should I get the intake and K&N before the carb?? Thanks again

If you take it to the dealer theirs no telling what they will charge to tune it in. Depending on what your elevation is but if you set it up close to mine it should be close. I do have the 800 snorkle and header on mine also so that might make a difference.
