Need help w/ 98 400 Scrambler. Starts good, no power, no top end, runs a little rough. Went through carb, everything looked O.K. Could it be an electrical problem, or reeds, or exhaust? Problem started all of a sudden after being used to just putt around a creek for a couple of hours. Spark plug looks fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Check for intake or exhaust restrictions first.

I took the exhaust off and everything looked fine. Couldn't tell if there were any ristrictions in the muffler. Took the carb off and looked at it, everything seemed fine as well as the air filter. Runs ok until you try to go past half throttle. Then it just kind of sputters and bogs down like you have the choke on. I don't know what to think. Is there any type of electrical timing advance or anything like that?
Thanks

Is the bike stock?

What jetting are you running?

Are you sure its running strong until 1/2 throttle?
