HPD Ignition

HPD Ignition
Well i just finished installing the new ignition from HPD.The installation is pretty easy. The only complaint that i have is the tab's on the igniter coil, you have to solder a wire to each end. These tab's are very very cheesy, they both came loose from the igniter coil.I solder all day long at work,so i would say i can solder pretty good.I had some epoxy that i mixed to get the tab's to hold.I believe Rick had the same problem with one of these products.Once the epoxy cured i was able to take it for a spin,i gapped the plug at 35 and it pulls very strong,oh yeah don't get your son to pull the rope while you hold the cap either. It has a very strong spark,i just had to try it.

It just lets you run a bigger gap and has more spark than the stock ignition. The stock one is pretty weak. It is really supposed to help on overall power. Mine does tend to misfire some. I believe this ignition will help eliminate that. I just can't afford one right now. Trying to save for a new house. I know I got my priorities all screwed up.
I don't think the cdi will have anything to do with the lighting circuit. If you want more light then look into getting a higher output stator so you can run more lighting or higher wattage bulbs.
