I've been running a K & N for about 1500 miles on an Eiger. I've heard all the horror stories and the warnings that, without a prefilter, it will let in anything smaller than a bowling ball...........
Well, I just got done running 125 miles in conditions so dusty I had to stop ocassionally due to lack of visability. When I removed the filter that was so dirty the pleats were all but invisable, I found NO dust in the throat of the filter box........none.
What is an absolute, however, is regular prescribed cleaning and oiling.
Due it by the numbers and you'll have no problems.........
(Like they said about the Donner party..............take no shortcuts)
