I dont know of any tests out yet of the raptor 700, and i highly doubt anyone really knows much about the raptor 700. But strictly out of what you guys think, which is going to be better?

Well the Raptor and Pred are pretty much the same in power even with the Raptor being 160cc more. So the new 700 should smoke the pred. Only time will tell. The first year for any atv is the worst. Im sure Polaris already has something in the works.

They are pretty much even when the raptor was 660, now with it being 686 it should be some what qicker but not much faster if any, most all stock ATVs will run around 70-75mph from the factory if yamaha hasn't made any gearing changes then it wont be any faster then it was as a 660.
As for the EFI i dont like it, i never have liked EFI now there is all kinds of little things that can screw up.

Just my 2 cents

If they used a good EFI system that would be great. But they don't use O2 sensors so you can't really get the air/fuel ratio perfect for all situations. I've got a 5.0 mustang and the nicest thing about it is the fact that with all the mods I have done on it I never have to worry about the air/fuel mixture cause I know the computer will take care of it for me. I've got bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump but I never had to mess with setting up a carb. It would be sweet if we could buy an atv like that. Where you could mod the heck out of the engine and have the computer take care of the fuel.

I agree. At best, it would make it so you don’t have to worry about carb jetting if you change altitudes but most of us here either don’t change altitudes often or we are pretty savvy in changing out our own jets. If there is no O2 sensor and a computer to make the changes to the fuel/air mixture, then it will only be slightly better than what is out now. I guess only time will tell. I am sure there will be a few guys around here that will get one and I will be able to see what it can do. The new 2006 YFZ, however, is something totally all together different. Lets just say that I won’t be racing for pinks against that thing.
