Please help a brand new quad guy locate this hose. Is it the 1/2" or so hose that goes from the top of the head or is it the valve cover back to the front of the air box? I see this one with the side panel removed on the right side. Looking from the left side I'm having trouble identifying the hose in question. Please help me as I dont want to have any preventable problems. Thanks
Cutty

I took your advice and looked on both of my SP's (what's mine is mine and what's hers is mine; at least when I have to fix them). I found the hose on the 500 easy and I can see why there is a problem. The hose is on the front side of the engine and low down just beside the oil filter. And I can see why it comes off. The hose is very soft and pliable and comes off easily. (It may also be soft because it is 115 degrees in my garage tonight). It is not hard like black fuel line. I replace the squeeze clamp in minutes. The 700 is different. I will need to remove the tank to gain access. The vent nipple is on the back side, top of the eng, just above the intake and appears a little more protected, both from coming off and for getting water in it. If you were to get water that high up, it would probably get sucked into the intake.
Hey King: I did some riding last summer down towards Fundy Park area, up behind Mechanic Settlement. Some of the most beautiful country in the world.

Hose clamp. Use a flat top screwdriver or a small socket to tighten it. In Europe they call them "aligator clamps"
