I was out ridding today, all day, we went about 60 miles. I was a great ride, anyway, all during the ride we stop we go we stop we go, get back to the truck turn it off, starts right up, load it up. Now get home, wont start. it sounds like the battery is dead, but I still have head lights. Starts right up with the recoil. Try the key an RRR, RR-click click nothing...... Does anyone have any Ideas? Oh ya, its a 99 Sport 400L. Thanks, (I just have a feeling this is going to cost a lot)

Maybe you had some water make its way into the starter, I've heard of that problem before. I've also heard that there is a drain screw on the bottom of the starter housing. You might want to start there.

 

Sounds like a loose connection! Could be any where between the battery and the starter. Good luck. Jim.

 

Make sure first of all you don't have any loose wires on the battery and if you don't charge your battery because it doesn't take a lot of battery power to run the lights.

Yes 1st Sgt, (I have been dying to say that). My magnum will do that sometime. Take the battery out and clean the connections. Check the battery fluid levels, charge fully, and put it back into the atv. This should clear up the trouble.
