Me and the new Mrs. will be heading there at the end of August, I can't wait!!!!!!! We are taking a 7 day cruise from Seattle. For those of you who have taken the cruises are the excursions worth it????

I'll be checking out the pics

Thanks,

We took excursions 2 times (day 4 and day 5). We did not pre-book anything with the travel agent, just picked what we wanted on the ship. The jet boat ride we took while in Skagway was awsome. Salmon bake in Juneau was very good. Most times we were docked, we just walked around the towns. Ketchikan was one of the best towns to walk around. Small but lots of things to see. Interesting to go on side streets and see the non tourist stuff.

What wkayl says! We also took a helecopter to Mendenhal Glacier. About $80-120 each. You get to walk around and the pilots will snap pics for you with your camera at a couple different stops. Only walk on the blue ice! We also took a nature boat ride to see all the local wildlife. Trees looked like they were lighted with white Christmas lights but when we got close they were the white feathers of the eagle heads. Thousands of eagles. Everywhere! Awesome! Also saw sea otters and seals, whales. Unbelieveable!!! I want to go again. We left out of Van Couver. It was the last cruise we took with my dad just before he passed away. I will never forget it. Worth every penny and more. Have fun and do everything. You can book everything on the ship and they will guarantee not to leave you behind. Land based bookings not approved by the ship have no guarantee. Enjoy!!!
