We do some riding along and thru a river. Sometimes it gets a little deep. How does the Trail Boss handle water crossings? Is it easy to get the belt to slip? How deep can you cross without problems?

I have never done any serious swimming with the trail boss. I have hit some shallow water holes (less than 1 foot deep) pretty fast had have not had the belt slip. If you hit these this fast with my magnum, the belt will slip. Generally, on most Polaris's, you can swim it up to the belt intake. The belt intake is just below the gas tank. Above this, you are asking for trouble. The PVT system will keep water out pretty good, but if submersed, the water will win and you will go nowhere.

Quadfather

Was the trail boss you are referring to a 2000 or 2001? According to the Polaris service bulletin, all the 2000's had the crappy oil lines and some 2001's had them. The old lines will be replaced by Polaris free of charge to a new style line that is supposed to be much better. I haven't got mine in yet, so I don't know all of the details yet. Hopefully, the fix will end the problem.

We have two 325 TB's , bought June '99. Just got back from 3 days at Silver Lake. I rode the snot out of mine and it's still going strong. We have a good 100-130 hrs. on them. My wife's still looks and runs like new. Mine starting to look used. They are incredibly reliable and have not had any major problems yet (even the "crappy" oil lines are still holding)! I plan on the performance kit from RCR for mine, just to give it a little more pep. They are our first bikes and were well worth the money.
Also they jump decently too. I finally picked up a spanner wrench and cranked my shock up to the third notch. Did about 30 jumps and didn't have the bottoming out problem I'd been having.
Overall a great quad with an unbeatable price.

BK i ordered my parts from dennis kirk the jet kit comes with 6 different jets along with the k &n filter for about $130 and the cluch kit cost around 170 it made a difference but nothing real major i think the reason i got it so fast was there was about a 15 mph tail wind as for deep water crossing we ride alot of mud and i've been buried up to the seat a few times and never had a problem i called my dealer yesterday about the oil lines and he said all dealers should have the parts to fix the oil lines in about a week or so

ALright, now i'm confused. how can your boss only run 44? how long have you had it, it takes around a month and a half for the belt to get broke in to get it to its true top speed. How the heck can mine pull 52 without thinking twice? I ran it alongside my EXP425 and my jeep cherokee! it was hauling at 52 MPH. Anyway, maybe you're right the engine must have not been working hard to only go that fast. Try some clutch mods, like lighter weights. those should let it rev out higher but i'd post a topic here if i was you cause i ain't sure about that.

Great quad till the motor started to knock. Blown oil line. 3 weeks old and about 50 miles. Will Polaris rebuild my motor, or just replace the oil lines. How will I know what damage has been done?
