I got a flyer in my mailbox saying the 18 wheeler Polaris semi was at the neighborhood dealer this weekend with all the new Polaris models. I grabbed my digital camera and headed down there with every intention of seeing the new 700cc machines. All I saw was a new Trailblazer with braided steel brake lines.

i have been told that there will be a sp700 out before the kawie650 hits the dealers floors. i dont know exactly when though. the sp700 is polaris answer to the kawie650.

it was a person that works for polaris and asked the "higher up's" when they would realese a sp700 they said it would be out sometime between now and when the kawi650 is for sale, nothing exact though.
u dont expect polaris not to have a machine to answer the kawie650.

the machines u listed are high-preformance machines. polaris hasent made a machine to compete with thoes. the sp500ho rules in the big bore 4x4 machines. the kawie650 is a strong threat to the sp500ho, so polaris must answer it. result sp700

Hey Quadfather,Question for you.
I see by your posts that you own both a 99 Sportsman and a 2000 Kodiak, which I'm assuming is a 4x4 also. I recently had my choices narrowed down to a 2000 Kodiak demo,a 2000 Magnum 500 demo and a 99 Sportsman 500. I decided to go with the Sportsman. In your opinion ,how does the Kodiak compare to the Sportsman?
Thanks, Snoway.
PS. all others comments are welcome also.

Snoway:

actually, I have a Sport, not a Sportsman. But I ride with a couple. I wanted the Kodiak because I didn't want something so big. The Sportsman is huge, it's like riding a tank. The power of the Kodiak is great, but does not compare to the Sportsman. It also can't touch the Sportsman in the mud. I have no buyers regrets though, I mainly use the Kodiak at deer camp, it doesn't get out much other than that.

High-performance sport machines aren't Polaris' "bag" (in my best Austin Powers impression). I think they are more keen to the utility/4x4 market.

Utility quads out sell sports quads. The new Kawasaki could dethrone the SP as the king of ATV's. If I was a betting man, which I am put your money on a SP700 & not a sport quad.
