Om not sure what is wrong. I put a new belt on my scrammy about 4 or 5 months ago and its already loosing the threads. I know these belts should last longer than that. What can cause belts to losse thread or shred or what ever. Any tips would be helpfull

Could be a bad belt that happens alot, I would suggest checking clutch alignment. Did you smoke your belt at all?

Need to get an alignment tool, adn you should proabably get a service manual as well but to check alignemt once you get an alignemt bar you place the alignment bar on priamary clutch and check for proper off set from primary to secondary clutch the manual gives you the proper offset as well which should be about a 1/8" to 3/16" it a good thing I check the manual I have doesn't give spec it pretty lame. But once you have placed the alignemet tool on the primary clutch you will be able to see what you have for an offset. Its pretty simple and easy.

U might look to the dealer to fix u up on this one, if it is off, u have to add or take away shim from the secondary.

Also check for primary clutch sheave grooving near the center, or cracks near center.

If your sure the clutch is in good shape, then get the clutches aligned, if u call it bad belts, it will happen 6 mnths from now.
