Default Increaseing power to the ground

ive noticed that when i stab the throttle on my 800 the suspention squats alot because of all the torque. im not a techy on this stuff, but im pretty sure thats a loss of power, so would increaseing the preload on my rear shocks eliminate that more and in consiquence be putting more power to the ground?

loss of power???? i seriously doubt that! Sprint cars set there suspentions up so that the rear is already sitting lower than the front so they get more traction! everything squats under hard excelleration thats how you get more traction!

it just seems like alot of torque is being wasted by pushing the *** down, heheh

Well, I guess I have to get a little laugh out of this one. Gonna go drag racing with the old ute??[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]LOL

Honestly I dont think I would worry about that, unless you really want to try to correct it some. Stiffening the suspension will help some. the biggest thing is the way the geometry of the swingarm is and the weight of the machine. It really doesnt have any choice but to squat the rear end when you launch since it is trying to get that much weight moving. Kind of just has to be that way...

Hate to be to technical but According to newton's third law: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Traction in a straight line is improved by lifting the rear of the vehicle which plants the tires to the ground. I know it seems like it would the other way around but it's not. As the rear end of the vehicle lifts up it is actually pushing the axle down. Drag cars use lift bars and so forth to get this effect.
