Default best prices for parts?

I'm looking to buy a few basic parts and supplies with the least amount of money, mainly because I don't have much to spend right now. I need a few new seals, possibly a new chain and sprockets, some indicator bulbs, brake pads, a few misc. pieces, and all new fluids. This is all going on a 2000 Xplorer 250, and since this wasn't the most popular machine, I've found some places don't have many parts for it.
Also, can you get fluids/ lubricants shipped? I haven't ever had to get any online, but I don't want to pay for the higher prices that shops around town sell them for.
How can I tell when the chain and sprockets are bad? I really don't want to buy new ones if I don't have to.
I know these are basic questions, but I am kind of learning as I go. This is my first ATV that I bought it used (and cheap) earlier this year and it needs some maintenance and small repairs. Because of these things, I haven't taken it out to ride yet. I have just gone up and down the street some.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
