Default 04.5 SP 600 overheating

Hey guys,

My 04.5 Sp 600 wants to run hot when I do moderate to severe mud riding. I know I am getting some mud in the radiator, but my buddy with a 98 Sp 500 never gets hot and he goes through worse mud than I do. Is this just a quirk of the twins or what? I have a portable 12V bilge pump that I used to spray out the radiator, but it is a pain having to stop and do that.

What else can I do to keep the mud from packing in there as bad? I spray it out thoroughly with a water hose before each ride, and after that dries I spray the radiator with wd40 to help the mud release easier. Is there anything else I can do?

I have a temperature gauge installed on my pod, so I catch the temperature rising before I get the hot warning, asI know if I get above 215 F I had better stop and clean it out. THe bike usually runs at 195-200 F.

Thanks!
