I think just under 60 mph.

I had my trail modded 400 up to about 73 mph on pavement, GPS recently.

your gps must be off quite the bit,you mean 12" wide tires?a wide tire will actually put more drag on the machine and slow you down.i use to run a 12.5 wide tire on my scrambler with a pipe, reeds, clutch kit and no airbox,i was lucky if it went 70mph.i cant see your machine going 85..

its going to take more than a pipe, filter and clutch kit to beat a stock 400 scrambler with a equal rider,im not saying you didnt beat him but he either let you win,to scared to pin it open or he is way past due for a rebuild..

ya i wouldnt be suprized if the bike did need to be rebuilt, i took his bike for a ride and it has good power tho. he used to have25" tiers on it and it was crazey fast it would beet my cuzins raptor. but now he put stockers back on.slowed it down alot. me and him have really close races all the time now tho. also raced my cuzins raptor with myn and i had him till he shifted into 4rth but then just drovve buy like i was standen still.
