Oh, no way I'd get on that thing! He's offered me a ride on his trail sled (not his racer) but I've said no way! His trail sled is wayyy too fast for me! I'f I survived a ride there's no way I could pay for a new one .

I haven't ridden one myself, but from what I've seen, heard, or read about they don't have exactly the same "spirit" as a regular Harley, but they do have their own unique "spirit". So, I don't think they are like most other bikes, but not the Harley you're accustomed to. Uniquely Harley, but a new feel rather than a different feel, if you can understand what I mean. You've been around awhile and it seems like you've been around a lot of bikes, boats, etc., so I think you'll get what I mean. Like, different than your usual Harley but definetely has recognizable Harley "roots". Or at least that's how I've percieved it to be, that's the expectation I have from what I've seen, heard, or read.

Thank´s a lot Sparky, just what I´ve been thought. Nice-looking bike, but there´s something what you´re still missing. They have so long history that we expect every time old traditions. I think that they have done their best for keeping old "roots" but... Everything in its time, let´s see what´ll they think next. Wheels away and wings both sides, maybe.

Yeah, I hated them at first. Then I went at it with an open mind and read all I could. I also got a dvd on the hisrory of HD which outlined the research and development of the v-rod......oh wait......the part I'm remebering about the develpment may not be on my dvd, it may have been one of the discovery channel specials. Anyways, I would like to try one. If I really like the feel of the motor, maybe find a wrecked one and use the motor and build a nice custom. Imagine having a motor like that in a low rigid or softail frame. Use some gsxr 54mm legs in a set of custom trees, hidden controls in bars- the kind with hydraulic clutch, brake, and hidden throttle. Custom gas tank with battery hidden under tank, 2 piece tank with a portion being the oil tank. Lookin as bare bones as possible with a kick start as well. Oh man, I have some dreams on how I would build a bike. Even if they wouldn't work or be asthetically pleasing with that motor, as most of my ideas aren't based around that motor anyway. I just think it may be cool to build a chopper with it.
