Default Polaris Aauminum wheels on an older 700?

Im thinking of a set of the new aluminum wheels and pxt tires that come on the 800 for my 2004.5 700efi. I understand that they changed the clutching on the newer 05-06 machnes to cope with the newer larger 26 inch tires vs the older 25 inch badlands, so there might be a very slight decrease in acceleration. Also how much would that cost me, a new set of both the aluminum wheels and pxt tires maybe 600-700 dolars?

Seems reasonable maybe 75 a wheel and 75 a tire comes out to exacly 600.

I put 26" tires on my 04 400 and was very concerned about power loss. But it turns out that the difference is barley perceptable. I do have an EPI pink primary spring in and I think that really helps by keeping me operating at a slightly higher RPM and up in the powerband of the engine. So I think you'll be fine on power with your 700.......if anything a $20 spring change will fix you up. BTW.....I got the 14" Polaris/Vision/Kenda "Bounty Hunter" package you can see on the Polaris website. The list is $649. I walked out the door for less than $600 at my dealer. Check out 'Jayri's photo page, 'Perky's photo page and 'Parvmeister's photo page to see them.

How do you like the Bounty Hunters? I do mostly hard pack trails but once in a while I like to play in the mud and these badlands are worthless, however they work awesome on the hardpack. Whats the lug depth of the bounty hunters and how do they compare to the pxt's?

Just remember if you put the new Polaris rims on an older model you will need to install longer wheel studs. The studs that are on there will only give you 4 or 5 threads to work with. You can get stock 800 stud for about a buck apiece.

The 14" ones that I just got bolt right up to my 2004.5. The studs are plenty long. In fact they come with all new lugs and lug tool. I'm guessing you may be refering to the 12" Vision/PXT setup that comes stock on the 800.

Yes I am refering to the 800 wheel and tire kit. I talked to my dealer and he said that I could get the new set of 4 tires and 4 wheels for a MSRP of 680.00, but with my discount (I was there first costumer) a total of 576.99. I told him to order them, why not its a darn good price which includes mountin and everything.
