What gains (w/ a cam) and where in the powerband will it be? Also what gas will i have to run? Im thinking of buying a preddy with these mods, but they are still in the box, i wasnt sure if they would suit the type of riding i do, which is mostly trails.
any input is greatly apreciated.
Otherwise i may be looking to sell it.

don't know how it will be because i need more info on the cams,but 11.5.1 isn't all that high when stock it's 10-5-1. i don't think it would be any different then riding a piped out raptor 660. is it stock other then the mods you told us??

 

It has a 450r carb. rath racing header, pure polaris slipon and a dyna cdi i believe. This is whats on the quad right now. In the box he has the je 11:5:1 and a set of intake and wxhaust web cams, im not sure the specific grind on the cams.
So with all this said, would this be a logical trail quad?
Its an 03, he also has the update tranny kit in the box too, it doesnt have the stock plastics it has some black (polaris) plastics in good condition. He's asking $4,000 with all of this included......what do ya think?

 

I RUN A WISECO 12.5:1 PISTON IN A 2003 PRED AND IT GAVE A LITTLE MORE LOW END POWER AND MIDRANGE. I ALSO HAVE THE DYNA INGNTION , BUT NO CAMS. I RUN 92 AND 101 OCTANE WITH NO PROBLEMS. I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN THE WEB CAMS IF FOR SALE, THANKS.

 

Dude, you'll be fine with stock cams and 11.5:1 . With certain aftermarket cams you may be able to run up to 12.5:1 on 93 octane pump gas. Really need to ask the cam manuafacturer. There is an "unoffical" rule that 1 pt of compression = 1 to 0.5 HP, so that is what the 11.5 could add.

 

All sounds good. I dont know the specific grind on the cams, ill find out. POLRACER i cant figure out how to pm, but i wont know anything till this weekend.

If i was you and had the money I would buy it. if it's too much quad you can alway down tune it and sell the parts to us on the forum here.but, i don't think it will be that bad/ hard to handle.

 

Im not really worried about not being able to handle the quad, thats no problem. I was just wondering if anyone else has swapped the tm42 on their preddy, and how it ran with what mods. Also is this a logical modification for the trail?
Is this a good price for an 03 tho. (4k) cause i dont know much about the preddys.

I don't know of anyone using a tm42. i use fcr 41 and it ripps

 

I may be wrong, but doesnt the tm42 come on the 450r? Regardless he's running a 450r carb. on it.
Ive done searches, but i havent found anyone using this setup.
