Default PVT cover bolt torque

In the service manual it says "PVT Inner Cover Bolts 12 ft. lbs."

So, I set the inch # torque wrench to 144 inch #'s. I couldn't get the bolt to that torque.

The spec must be lower. Anyone know what it is? Any thoughts?

I looked at the parts manual. That torque was for the inner cover, not the outer cover. They don't list the torque for the outer cover. Anyone know what it is?

There is no set torque for the outer cover. I just alternate and tighten to what I feel is good. A good snug fit should be fine.

I just usually go around the cover a few times and make sure they are snug. Always the perfectionist.

GE4x4, I can't wait until you get a long test ride on the new outlander so you can tell us how it compares to the sp800.

I noticed in the manual that it says to periodically drain the recoil housing. That bolt is not in an easy area to get to. Is it really necessary? I don't go in much water, but the manual said moisture will build up in there.

Thanks.

Like GE4x4 said, just snug them up, do not over torque them.
