Default New 700EFI/Service Manual ?

Picked up my new 700EFI last week. Man is this thing nice. Quite a difference from my old Sportsman 400. Can't wait to open 'er up after break-in.

Just put my accessories on this weekend. Got the front brushguard, rear bumper, front rack extender, 2500ci Warn winch, Glacier Plow mount and red/black gel grips (you can check out my pictures if you like). Everything was pretty easy to install. The winch was a LOT easier than installing on my 2004 Sportsman. BTW, the winch comes with a template to cut out the front panel. My dealer had a Polaris winch cover that comes on the Hunter Special ATV's (opening already cut out for the winch and the blue Polaris oval on the front), so I ordered one for $20. Talked him in to giving me the one he had on the ATV in the showroom, and he could my ordered one back on his. The funny thing is that the one he ordered did not come with the blue Polaris oval on the piece, so I got the emblem for free (woopie).

Anyway, I also bought the Service Manual. My Service Manual fro the 2004 came with a CD, but the new one for the 2005 did not. Has anyone else bought the 2005 Polaris Service Manual and did the CD come with it? I like having the CD so I can print out the pages I need and don't dirty the book up.

The 05 manual (700/800EFI) I bought has the CD in it. Still in there, never have taken it out.

I wonder why mine didn't come with a CD. Oh well, I guess I can copy the pages I need when servicing.

Also, I noticed last night that the 700 has grease zerks on the front and rear A-Arms. They aren't even shown in the Service Manual. Is this something they added to all 2005 Sportsmans?

Huh? You have grease zerks on the front and rear A-arms of an ’05 700 EFI!?! What’s your build date? And you wouldn’t be pulling our cranks would you?

I'd like to investigate this but I need build dates. They should be on the sticker mounted to the panel on the right side of the radiator.

Default New 700EFI/Service Manual ?

My build date was February of 2005 (even though I just purchased last week). I am interested to see the results of this. I just assumed that all 2005's had them and Polaris didn't update the manual.

I wonder if there are any more added zerks that we don't know about (like steering post?).

encorebilly: Noticed any others?

I think the more grease zerks the better. Doesn't take much time or money and beats replacing things after a couple years.
