I was doing some research on old snowmobiles.I found out HONDU made one, checking into it farther found this pic of the last one made, and the last guy to ride one,and they make fun of POLRIS reliability.Well next time you hear "HONDU RELIABILITY"just think of this.Don't forget to checkout BIG MAMA while your there. Some body let me know if this is working please. We all know that Hondus never break down! Probably some Polaris rider sabotoged his machine.
Not sure but it looks like some creative editing was done.

The Question is more like who did not make a sled at one time or another? Click on these and see what I mean.www.vintageskidoo.com/brand.htm Than click on any brand name for a image of that make. You will see why Honda never caught on to this sport with there first attempt.

I believe that Kawasaki also made snowmobiles a while back! Somebody told me that Harley Davidson also made them! If true, I learned something new.

80's thined alot of them out there were some bad years for snow!Alot of the weaker ones were bought out and merged, then the parent company went under.Artic Cat even went under then was revived a few years later. There are several new sled makers coming back into the market now but more in the speciallity line some of them in the $18,000-$20'000 range, time will tell. But with the bad conditions(lack of snow)we have had last few years sure isn't good time to be starting new company now!!!!I was at snow show couple years ago,Guy had 3 old John Deere sleds, had sign said buy 1 get 3.I think I heard at one time there were something around 200 snowmobile companys.Polaris is #1 and then I think Ski-Doo then Artic Cat and Yamaha, not sure which is #3. International Harvester even made a snowmobile!
It only made it to the prototype stage, but it looked cool for the time. They were trying to compete with John Deere.

Along with the four current manufacturers, these are some that I remember. Aloquette(spelling?),Mercury, Johnson(OMC), Rupp, Moto-Ski, Skirule, John Deere, Scorpion, Harley-Davidson, Sno-Jet, Kawasaki. My personal favorite, would be the Merc Snow-Twisters. They were ahead of their time.
