MV7 Clutch
#1
I am a FNG to the site as well as modifiying my quad so please be easy. I need some help with the clutch on my MV7, I don't like the amout of slippage (or stall) that I have before I have full engagement. I don't care about top end speed I want low end torque. I use my quad for work (land surveyor) and haul my equipment through the woods, creeks, and hills so all I want is low end stump pulling power when I touch the throttle, i dont' like having to build up the RPMS and to holding on tight as it lauches into or off of something. Is this possible? and how can I achieve it. Thanks for any help.

i would think you would just need a different spring in your primary clutch to give you a lower engagement. or you could look at something like the heel clicker clutch i think they would do what you want but it would be alot more involved and alot more$$

If you put a 800 primary clutch on your MV7 I think it will help you alot. The 800 starts in a lower ratio and gives you more low end. You can also do this with a 500 scrambler clutch but you will lose low speed EBS. I have the 500 scrambler clutch odered and should be here this week and I will let you know how it works.

Ok i have a question.... if the 800 clutch will fit on a 700 and the scrammy 500 clutch will fit on the 700 do you think the 800 clutch will fit on the sportsman 500... how much of a difference would this give me for low end
hackmark if u would like lower RPM engaugement on your MV7 you would need to invest in a lighter grade primary sping and maybe some clutch weights

My guess would be that the 800 would fit but you might need to have the team roller secondary to. I know the 500 scrammy clutch will fit. Both the 800 & 500 scrammy clutch should give you some real nice low end grunt because they start in a lower ratio.

You might be able to use your stock secondary I just know the 800's have a team roller. I put a Team roller on my 700 and really like it. It has better back shift and is smoother than my stock secondary. Also if you get the 800 primary you will need to get the 800 belt. Your looking at $300 to $400 dollars depending on where you get it.

I'm thinking of getting a Team secondary off a 2004.5 700 efi, do you think this would work fine with my setup, keeping the stock primary.
