I think I need to change my bowl on the 39 PWK carb i have. The old style, which I have, does not have a vent tube inside the bowl to relieve excess fuel that gets into the bowl at low rpm from the vibration of the Polaris engine. My other carb from HPD that was newer did have the vent tube and it did constantly leak fuel at low rpm. This older one does not leak fuel. I suspect it is going into the engine and making the slow speed pilot jet run rich. I am looking for a replacement bowl that does have the little vent tube inside the bowl and has an angled vent hole on the bottom outside of the bowl to put the vent tube onto. If anyone has had this rpoblem, let me know if this is the fix. Darryl at HPD thinks this could be my problem also.
I need to fix this low end from the dead start bog. I lost the holeshot at my second race on Monday. I picked off everyone else to take the lead with one lap left. Unfortunately I got stuck in a rut and fell to second. Then the $22,000 lonestar 330r tried to pass me on an uphill jump and we collided in midair and I crashed. By the time I got back to my feet and retrieved my damn machine, I fell to seventh out of fourteen for the finish. I had at least 3rd with how tired I was if I just didnt get thrown off. If I had the holeshot or at least close, and not 10th, I could have done even better. Any help would be appreciated.

I need the one with the vent as well, I'm sure the bowl is what your feeling. I went back to the 34mm CV. If you find a good place to get one let me know.

you can find the bowl at carparts.com. do a search on google for keihin 39 pwk and there will be a link to a site that has a how to guide to fix this and other problems. you have to do some drilling and tapping. i don't know why i didn't save the page dohhhhhh.
I was hoping someone would have a bowl for sale cheap, if not I will try the other places. I wont mind the leaking if I can get the bog gone.

Kahnman, I have a local salvage yard with hundreds of carbs, as popular as the PWK's are with the dirt bike crowd, I'm sure they will have one the bowl is the same for all the PWK series. When I go to check it out for myself you want me to see if they have another?

i dont think the bowl vent is your bog problem!i have the same old style 39mm as you do and my machine has no bog at all.my carb leaks fuel out the 2 side vents on the carb,i played around with the float adjustment and i pretty much eliminated the leak issues,it still leaks a little but not as much as it did.how do you have yours jetted?,it doesnt leak at all?maybe the 2 vents on the side of the carb are plugged not aloowing it to leak a little? Yea, if you can look. I need the newer style bowl with the vent tube that goes up the inside of the bowl and has an angled metal tube connection on the outside for the vent tube. I am looking for anything to fix this problem. I have two 39pwk carbs that one has the bowl with the vent, and runs good. The other does not have the vent, does not leak, and fouls out even expensive iridium plugs on the low end with a bog. I have tried virtually everything else. Mya ssumption is the excess fuel is getting up into the rest of the carb and richening the mixture, unlike the vented model. By the way, 35 pilot, eeg needle, middle clip, 6.5 slide, 172 main, hpd race mod, and 14.5 billet head, with v-force reeds. I looked for hours on the internet for a place that could sell me the bowl with no luck. Doesn't anyone out there have one with the vent tube on the bottom?
