Labor day, me and some buds went riding/scoutin on the huntin club. All went great, then as we were leavin, I went to pull out from a stop sign, and my s/p rolled out the back of the truck. Somehow the straps came loose,idk. Anyway, it rolled out, bent my tailgate, landed on the back rack, then rolled over on the handle bars. It crushed my handle bars, light pod, guages and display, broke my break lever and my winch control. I think thats all the damage, but it is still a good bit.

Have any of you had to deal with somethin like this, and how much do yall think it will cost? I have full coverage insurence on my truck, so that will pay for most of it. I'm just really bummed out that the quad that I try to take such good care of got smashed.

 

Dang, at least you weren't at cruising speed when it happened and in traffic. Thats always been in the back of my mind when I'm hauling an atv. I go way overboard on securing them. The cost will be pretty high if your gonna have a shop do it all. My guess is $500 or a little more.

 

Go to Partsland and you can get an idea of the costs. Might want to check the steering stem too, if it landed hard on the bars.

Probably going to be quite a bit, all those metal parts are expensive.

Sorry to hear about that, I'm always afraid of just that happening. I loop a Thule strap (the complete circle kind, no hooks) through the frame and the cleats in my bed as a safety if the normal ratchet straps loosen and fall off.

 

man sry to here that, try polarisoemparts.com to get a dicount on the parts. I had somhting just as bad happen but the quad was fine. We had the scrammy in the back of are v6 dakota, and we were hedding up a hill going through a green light when all of a sudden some dumb f.uk decides to go through the red. We were going probally 55 and we had to lock all 4 up. The starps came un don some how and the winch on the front of my scrammy went though the middle sliding window, and some how the other 2 were broke to. THat was like $350.00 to have the windows redone and fixed.

 

The other thing I'm always afraid of. I wedge blocks between the quad tires and the bed wall so it can't move forwards.

Well I'm paranoid when towing/hauling on the highway. I take all precautions there.
