Default Rode a Predator

Some new people started riding with us recently, and one of them has a predator. He's new to riding, so its still stock. Beforehand, I never really thought much of the bike. But this past weekend I decided to take it out for a ride, and man was I impressed. It was definitely one of the most comfortable quads I've been on in awhile (troy lee edition with the nice shocks), and the power came on so smooth. Even though I have some motor work and a new carb, etc on my bike, with a pipe I have a feeling that predator would be at least as fast as my bike. I was whipping around the trails with it in 4th and 5th gear. It was lacking a little bit on the low end, but what bike isn't stock?

I know it weighs more than other sport bikes, but it certainly doesn't feel like it. Jumping was very nice.

Anyways, I definitely walked away from the ride with a newfound respect for the predator. I would definitely consider buying one if something happened to my bike.

What's up Quadn00b?

It's good to hear about people givin' credit to what most of us consider to be a great bike. i had a similar experience with a guy on a YFZ who wouldn't believe it until he rode it and walked away saying "wow, that thing hits hard" I will say also, that i ride with anther dude on a Z-400 and while power dilevery is slightly lower, (400 vs. 500cc) i love the handling manors of the Z. the light front end makes it feel awesome on the trails. Oh well, what ever you ride, RIDE HARD! see ya on the trails

a simple pipe filter combo really wakes up the pred also. If you thought the stocker was fast get him to spend 300 on pipe filter combo and take it for a ride. By the way I love the kawsuki 400's! Awesome trail bikes.

Yea i agree with hoopie, thought it was fast stock. I put the pure polaris pipe on and a k&n filter really WOKE her up.

Just the k&n will give better throttle response by itself. Dont know about HP but its worth it maybe one hp. you have to have the exhaust to get the most out of the filter but being able to clean the airfilter everytime is worth the money in itself. I have just the drop in filter and Pure Polaris pipe with 12 disks and didnt have to rejet. Its harder to start when cold though but turning up airscrew a little helped. The extra disks made a big difference on top end but less low end. I found if you went to 4 disks it pulled good catwalks but it would rev out real fast with not as much power.
