Default CPI Pipes

Does anyone have one of these pipes on their 400 sport or trailbalzer? are there any modifications that you have to have done to your bike before you put one on? My bike has some mods. done such as bored 40 over with a weisco, v- forced reeds, 42mm flatside carb. with a uni clamp on, hpd clutch kit, pro design cool head a DG pipe (looking to get rid of), a mild port and polish job, and aluminum ITP's. please give me any info. Thanks

It should work good , the only thing you might have to change is the clutching, just the wieghts and springs

Would it work fine with the mild porting I have done to it or will I have to get a race port done to it? If I get the race port will I no longer be able to putt the trails or will it still allow me to go trail riding? Thanks

Well, I have a full out HPD race ported 400 .80 over stock with the cpi pipe.I do find that in order to stay in controll in tight trails I would be off the gas more<but I'm not going slower,I just can't push the throttle to pin it. I kinda have to flick the throttle and only power where i can. Back in the day with a trail port I would almost be full throttle.
To anwser your question ,, I don't really think it's a problem With race porting a riding though the trails,,also you can play with the clutching for whatever riding you are planning to do.also if you stay with trail porting i sure it will still work fine as a matter of fact acording to CPI with the HPD race porting I Should be over the pipes RPM range, But they where wrong I had pulled this set up up to 8500 A few times on the ice and it didn't miss a beat. As of right now i Found that 7300 to 7800 seemed to work the best for me.

I love mine. It is a really beautiful pipe chromed and it performs better than I had hoped. I've got pics of mine in the gallery. Or click on "Photos".

Boy.... it really is... what a sweet looking pipe.

Where is the power "at" with this pipe?
What about torque?

How is it on the bottom end compared to stock?
