Default ITP Mudlite XTR with 14" Type 7 wheels on 800 and other ?s

I am actually asking this question about the BRP Outlander 800. I haven't gotten responses on any of my posts over there. There are plenty of knowledgeable folks over here that may help. I am looking for a little advice. I love the 14" Type 7s. Going to a 27" Good or bad idea? Will a clutch change be needed or recommended? And, what about the Mudlite XTRs. I have heard that these are great tires. Any opinions?

Kind of sucks to put my factory wheels and tires in the garage. The factory Carliales are excellent.

I would think this question applies equally to the Sportsman 800, so hopefully it will help someone else.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

27" are tall and going to rob power but give a nice sport ride with the shorter sidewalls.
even better look at the 14" polaris/kenda setup , this is not a pure mud tire but an all around radial.

Jim, Thanks for the reply. This is a tough decision. They make that wheel in a 12" too. I am considering both.

You can take a look at this thread to get my opinion about Mud Lites and why I decided to go with 12" XTRs. If you're looking for a quote on tires and wheels PM me.

Hey floodrunner! Good review, and it makes sense. My thoughts are do I want to maintain that rubber and protect the rims more or do I want to add to the already sporty ride with 14" aluminum and 27" rubber? Either way, I love the Type 7s.

Not sure if you and others know this, but the stock Carlisle tires on the Bombardier are the same tire as the Polaris branded PXTs on the Sportsmans. I noticed it just yesterday when I had them parked next to each other. Frankly, I really like those tires on both ATVs.

I am looking for quotes on 14" Type 7s with 27" Mudlite XTRs and 12" Type 7s with 26" Mudlite XTRs. Would you mind quoting me? You can PM me and I will send you my contact info. THANKS!!
