Default Water getting in my airbox on my SP 500

I have and 04.5 and when going through some floorboard deep water, not fast mind you, the engine died on me a couple of times. When I got back home and was cleaning it up I had the airbox off and could see water in there, not much but enough to fill the drain tube with some still left in the box. It has a K&N filter that I serviced recently and installed it with their gasket sealer on the lid. It looks like it made a good seal so I wonder where the water is coming from. Could it be sucking it up from the snorkel or maybe my lid is warped and I can't see it. The lid looks like it has a slight arc to it is that normal? Also my storage compartment under the seat gets water in it easily, the lid doesn't seem to fit all that bad their either. Am I jinxed?

I read one post where it was steam coming up and getting sucked into the snorkel, the guy jambed some foam up underneath in the front of the tank. I'm wonder if that could be it or maybe it's one of the vent tubes, I'll have to check them out.
