Default Help, 01 trailblazer no power above half throttle

The quad had not been started for a couple of months so the first thing I did was remove and clean the carb but it didn't need it, it was like brand new inside. It starts and idles and runs great up to about half throttle anything above that it just bogs and dies if I keep on the throttle. If I let off it idles and runs fine at low speed. Battery is brand new, air filter is new, fuel filter is clean, spark plug is new, I am thinking not hot enough spark but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds as if it's starving for fuel. Does fuel run freely out of the line? Did you pull the main jet out and look thru it? If it was sitting during the hot summer months, probably something still in the carb.

sounds to me like a clogged main jet or something like that.

Make sure critters or dirt dobbers didnt build up a blockage in the exhaust.

Thanks for the input, I took the carb back apart and pulled the jet out and sure enough there was some crap in it. I guess I thought it was so clean when I took it apart the first time I just blew some air through all the passages and nothing seamed clogged. Thanks again for steering me back to what I thought it was to begin with but to stubborn to believe I missed something in there. It runs great again, I guess it did'nt hurt to have a new plug, fuel filter and battery that I don't have to charge up every time I want to ride. Take care and thanks again to Budman650, phildogg6 and Bubba297, you guys ROCK !!!

Glad to help out, been there, done that. Something about those carbs and AZ heat, just doesn't mix.
