help me buy a predator
#1
guys long time no talk, well alot has happened in a few months, i sold the ole trailblazer for some xtra money to start my own business, been doing that for about 3 mnths and every thing is going good. so its time to replace the empty spot in the garage, and im thinking about staying true to my quad roots and am thinking about the pred for 06. but im not sure, i rode the 700 raptor this weekend at a tt race i sponsored and i gotta say i like that bike, im about 6 ft tall and about 220 lbs and the bike fit me very well, somebody tell me why i should stay with polaris and get the pred. i rode one once and if i remember it felt kinda cramped but that was a 03 i think, maybe they have stretched it some.
no b.s. answers please. i need facts to help make my decision, and you guys really used to help me with the ole 'blazer so i thought i would start here first.
i think i want the tld version and i dig the o5 orange, what diff between the 05 and the 06 are there, and where can i see pics of the gncc version i have been hearing about lately.
i know this is alot of questions, i need an intervention, im thinking yamaha......
help , quickly

Preddy good, Raptor bad...how's that for convincing? LOL...
You can go to this thread and there are some nice pics of the '06 GNCC. Thanks to Spyder6 for that.
If you have ridden an '03 Pred, then you haven't ridden a Predator. It is so much different with the '05 and new model in it's ergonomics and power, it's like 2 different machines. There are allot of articles written about the changes, but I can't think of any of them off the top of my head.
Obviously, I have one, and love it...

I have an 03.........it is a little tough on the rider.........and I'm young. The power is still there though, might even be better than in later models in my opinon. The 700 is a nice machine......but if you decided you didn't like the pred.......i'd try to convince you to take a ride on a ds650..........they are very fun to ride and nice to ride too.......especially for a bigger guy.

Yea, I would hope with some of the work you've had done. That things gotta be a beast. No header on it though? I'm hearing good things about the Rath. The guys at Nicholas saying anything about it?

Yeah........I haven't got the best exhaust system yet.........they are so expensive. Rath has that new header now(glad I waited)........that is supposed to give 3.5hp to a stock motor.......so that should really wake mine up......I'll have one soon!!!

I havent rode the 700 raptor so I cant compare but I have rode the 660 which isnt a fari comparison so take it with a grain of salt. I have the 05 pred LE and have had no problems after 60 hours on it. It just keeps getting faster after the breakin. The best feature by far is the suspension of the pred. Its definetly second to none. The power is enough to think "Is this legal" and plenty to get you in serious trouble quick. The 660 raptor cant even compare to the new pred. the 700 seems much better desinged but with a lower rpm than previous I doubt it makes more hp but will have more torque. So it will be again the best catwalk machine. the pred has more hp for sure. If you get a LE with the PP exhuast buy some extra disks ($25) and put 12 in. Drop in K&N filter ($60) and the rath header ($200) and your in the mid 40's hp range basicaly stock. The Maxis tires are great extra with the douglas rims. Did I mention the shocks! I think the new raptor would be great to just have spend more in aftermarket tires, exhaust, and suspension to equal the pred. The raptor will always pull better catwalks though. I am 6ft 215.
