Hye pred guys. What oil are you guys running in your preds?? How much is this oil per quart?? What filter are you running?? Why are you running this oil rather than the ps-4?? I want to start running some different oil, I can't afford to run the ps-4, as much as I change my oil. But I want to run something that is good, makes it run smooth, and makes it shift good. And that will hold up to a good beating(with the enine and trans using the same oil).........Give me some reviews, reasons, and prices please. I also would like to know where to get it at.

If your not going to use ps4 for price then get the Amsoil 0w40 synthetic. I use it in my 05 pred with no problems. I also got my oil filters off of ebay for 10 for 25 bucks. Amsoil will be about 1 to 2 dollars cheaper than ps4 and the filters on ebay average 2.50 a peice. So it cost me 15 dollars to change my oil instead of 35 with the polaris oil kit. I change mine every 8 to 10 hours. every 7 oil changes i get a new oil filter seal and washers if needed. the amsoil shifts just as smooth as the ps4.

 

I was under the impression you should change the filter every time, is that normal?

 

If I was misunderstood, yes you change your oil filter every oil change. There is an oil filter seal that fits around the oil filter cap that I change about every 7 oil changes. You will see when you change your oil for the first time the black oil filter seal along with the plastic washer on the oil container and metal washer on the bottom of the engine.the oil change kit includes all this stuff though you dont need it for every oil change.

My brother has an '04 Predator TLD. He runs Amsoil 0w-40 and uses Wix oil filters.
Im not saying that PS-4 is a bad oil, but ever since he switched to Amsoil his quad starts easier and runs better. It also, in his opinion has more power.

i use amsoil 0-40w fourstroke oil with amsoil smf110 filter in my pred. i changed it to amsoil after the first change so i can't comment on the shift improvement. alot of guys buy the 20-50w v-twin oil form me for thier harley's and say it works wonders for the tranny and less valvetrain noise. for what that info is worth. it gets run in everything i have from car to chainsaw.

All we use is PS-4. I have 2 buddy's with 03's and if they use anything else, it don't like to shift as well.
