Default dirtwheels shootout polaris 800 vs bomb 800

i was shocked!! the sportsman 800 beat the outy 800 in every test but the drag race. they said it had much better traction in dirt than the outy even with the same tires. so the brp video with the sled pull is bs. if polaris would do something about there crappy boots, belts, and bearings they would be the best atv on the market today. but untill they do ill never own another one.

You might aswell be reading the "national enquire" if you are reading shootouts on atvs in dirtwheels. That magazine is sooo controversial its scary!

I HAVE A FRIEND WHO HAS THE 800 SPORTSMAN AND A FRIEND WHO HAS THE 800 OUTTY. THE ONLY PLACE THAT THE BOMB KEEPS UP IS THE SMOOTH STRAIGHT AWAYS. THE SPORTSMAN SUSPENSION IS SO MUCH MORE FORGIVING AND TUNEABLE,. IN THE SAND,ROCKS,RIVERS, THAN THE OUTTYS ITS FUNNY. AND NEVER MIND IF YOU DROP YOUR 9600.00$ OUTTY INTO THE MUD
YOU BOUND TO RIP YOUR BRAKES APART IN AN INSTANT (WHAT A STUPID SETUP)
THE OUTTY CANT KEEP UP WITH 700 NON EFI ON THE AVERAGE TRAIL

Yeah they really need to fix their boots. After owning a 400 Sportsman, I would have probably gotten the 800 but I knew it had the same boot setup as the 400 and I wasn't about to keep replacing boots again so I didn't even give it or any other Polaris a moment's thought. But don't believe Dirt Wheels they are going to give the better rating to their highest paying sponsor.

I have the Bomb and a SP700EFI let me tell you, your statements are completely inaccurate. I have also ridden several SP800s. I have been through fender deep mud with absolutely no problem other than the mess made of my boots and pants. Yes, the Bomb does have a stiffer suspension. That has never been debated. however, it is sportier and very managable and fast on the trails. The rear suspension is second to none and VERY stable. The front will hopefully be a little better with the spring update, not that it is bad. I can just be a little better. My 800 has handled every terrain immaginable with ease. Also, the Bomb is a lot tougher than it has been given credit.

Notice, I didn't say a single bad thing about the Sportsman. That is because it is a great machine. But, don't make comments like that when you haven't put the machine through it's paces.

Thanks for the comments. I'll ask for everyone's curiosity, or maybe just mine, in a drag race 0-40 how many quads ahead is the 800 outlander over your 700efi?

Thanks.

this is so funny to me i remember when it was the other way around and we were saying how biased dirt wheels was and how we always lost there shoot outs to the company with the most ads. i even remember the turning point when the pred beat the raptor i almost passed out reading dirt wheels say something positive about poaris. there is still only one or two ads from polaris every month and no real aftermarket support like there is for some other brands but there starting to win some respect over at dirt wheels...

GO POLARIS
