Anyone Buy A 500EFI Yet?
#1
i'm thinking about the EFI on the 500 and wondered how many of you own one?
i know what is supposed to be VS the carb but has anyone actually taken the plunge and bought one.
i really want an X2 but my local Dealer said they won't see one until Jan/Feb. i'm not sure i can wait that long so i'm contemplating the Sportsman500EFI in Mossy-oak.
anyone?

well i would personally wait for the X2 if you can bare it, january is only 65 days away. i was talking to my dealer about the 500EFI motor, aparently it has alot more spunk because the valves were redesigned and the exhuast valve was enlarged, also it runs alot smoother, and gets to the power band faster, and it also is quieter and the exhaust tone is different. my dealer said that he was able to pull a small wheelie on a brand new one at the dealer show. im sure its a fantastic quad. as far as the X2, not only do you get 2-up, a dump bed, and a brand new rear suspention, turf mode on your rear differential, 4 wheel EBS, you also get 6.5 gallons fuel capacity. thats like the biggest fuel tank on a quad yet.

thanks for the responses so far.
i went to look at the mossy-oak 2006 SP500 today and there's a lot more black in it then my old '04. the mix is completely different. the ATV is almost black. not sure i like the pattern.
why did Polaris have to change a good thing? looks nothing like my clothing/hat/ect either.
i'm surprised snosnake is the only one so far to buy a 500EFI. i thought there would be more interest then that. after-all, as i see it, it has to be the best ATV for fuel economy on the market today that still offers tons of power.
spyder6, i called my local Dealer and he said the X2 was bumped back another month. i just can't wait that long. gotta do something soon.
later guys,

If they changed the valves and things in the motor...better wait for the bugs to worked out. There will be bugs!!!!

all it is is a new head with an injector and larger exhuast valves and all the gizmoes outside the engine. first EFI out of polaris not useing Bosch stuff. as far as waiting for the bugs to get worked out, terrible philosophy, weres the fun in waiting?
