Default CV boot, just changed it!!

well today my cv boot ripped on my 700 so i went got that kit thing at my dealer so i began taking it apart and didnt relize what i was gettin myself into, i had trouble gettin the the axel out because of that clip thing. omg what a time i had changing that out by myself, but with my craftyness i figured everything out and didnt break anything or hurt myself siverely (thank GOD!!), this is not a very clean and easy job (i figured that out)
I havent been on in a month so it was nice to be come on and talk Thanks!!

Yeah, they are kinda a pain to change but it does beat paying the dealer parts and labor to do something that just takes a little time.

yeah i can only imagine how much they want to change the boot, they charged me $25.00 to install the airfilter and 175.00 to change the oil so at least i know how to do it now

so then the question is, did you put an order in for some stick stoppers? Did that to mine after going through the same thing... haven't had any more rips since putting those on...

i think the problem with polaris boots tearing so easily is the factory boot gaurds sit way to close to the boots. when you install stick stoppers they trap all the rocks sticks and trash so while your riding in the mud and creeks they tear the boots. i think the key is to get the boot gaurd futher away from the axle and leave the a arm open on the bottom with no stick stoppers so it cleans its self and the problem is solved. i tore seven boots in 300 miles on my polaris. i tried everything from stick stoppers to heavy duty boots and nothing helped. i traded the polaris for a vinson and i ride it in the exact same places i rode the polaris and ive not tore 1 single boot and i have 230 miles on it. it has no stick stoppers and the factory plastic boot gaurds on it. the difference is the boot gaurds on the vinson sits like 3 inches from the boots and polaris gaurds are right up against the boots on the 05 models. maybe this info helps and you wont have the headache i had with mine.

I HAD TO DO THE FRONT BOOTS ON MY ATP 330 AND MY SP700. AFTER DOING THE ATP I FIGURED OUT THAT THE KEY IS YOU NEED TO BE ROUGH WITH IT, AND IT COMES OUT AND GOES RIGHT BACK IN. BUT THERE IS NO DOUBT, IT IS MESSY
