Default Feedback On Lock & Ride

I need a rear hard cargo box, thinking about the Lock & Ride. Does anyone have any feedback? Like, does the rubber mounts vibrate loose, box comes off easy when not intended to, etc... Thanks. I figured this would be a good place to get honest, field tested, opinions.

The lock and ride accessories work great and so easy to use. I have two gun scabbard mounts, one on each side of the machine....I also bought some extra lock and ride mounts and made some of my own accessories for the rear...work great, you can't go wrong

I have the rear storage box, it works great, does not come loose. I installed foam truck cap tape around the bottom perimeter of the box to prevent any wear on the rack. If the box is big enough for your needs get it. I carried 4-1 gallon gas cans in mine for 900 plus miles with no problems at all....

Thanks a bunch. I was wondering about making my own Lock & Ride, like you did. What do you have to do, cut holes in a universal box for the mounts to stick though?

I have a few L&R accessories and they have all worked out great. Make sure that anchors on the cargo box are tight, so that they'll just slip into the holes when installing (should be a little tough to lock them down). Otherwise, they will slowly work their way up from the rear rack on bumpy trails.

powerslider: Which gas cans are you using. I haven't found any that will fit into the box, and with a 800 EFI you sure need A LOT of gas (online purchase would be great, as I am in Denmark (Europe)).

The gas cans I use are the Chilton brand, 4 of them fit perfect in the box with a small soft sided cooler.

My mileage on the 800 has ranged from 16 to 20 riding mostly open flat trails in high range, it hasn't changed from new to 900+ miles. First tank I got 17mpg....

Our only complaint about the L&R rear boxes has been some vibration (anoying rattle) but that’s easily fixed with some truck cap tape on the bottom. They stay put with the L&R system, no problem. The capacity may be a little small depending on your needs. I heard a rumor that Polaris came out with a bigger one but I haven’t seen it.
