my buddy has a 05 800 (parks in my garage)that had a hesitation off idle. That got fixed, now its got a "burp"not quite a stutter on HARD acceration from 4600rpm up to redline(6100 or so). Feels like a mixture issue on a carb model, I have let it warm up and Idle doesnt drop past 1150, (my carb 700 is about 900 rpm) Its cold out now and didnt notice this "flaw" on any trail rides this year . 325 miles on it . Yeah, its still got warranty left but I hate to send something back to dealer and not know how to fix it for "next time"

The 800 has a diagnostic mode that can be accessed and will read out codes on the speedo pod. The procedure is in the owner's manual but the codes are not. The service manual has the code translations (Section 10.7). It is a good place to start and if the problem is coded you will know what it is before it goes to the dealer.
