Default oil question

Hi all, I'am new here & my 1 st. post . the predator 500 calls for 0w40 syn. ps4 oil. The parts man says the ps4 is an additive for the wet clutch .Is there another brand oil out there that has this additive ? If I use an oil with out this additive will I do damage ?

Yes, you need that in the pred. because the oils the same for the trans too. Its a MUST!

Murrays auto sells it for 4 stroke wet clutches, i think Valvoline and Mobil 1 for around $8 a quart. I would stick to sull synthetic.

In the sportsmans we can run full syn 0w40 because the trans fluid is seperate (and its an auto).

are you saying valvoline & mobil -1 makes an oil with ps4 for wet clutches ? I plan on sticking with a synethetic oil , just looking for an oil other than polaris oil that will work with wet clutch. Dealer wants $ 9.99 per qt. for this stuff !
thanks

I checked them out. At $ 7 .00 per qt. + shipping ,it puts the cost up there !

you're right, they don't give the stuff away, maybe there is a distributor/dealer in your area so you could avoid the shipping cost. as a preferred customer the price is $5.45 per quart, which isn't bad, but there is still shipping. I became a preferred customer and put in larger orders with friends to make it more cost effective. just an idea...
