Default 01 Scrambler Problem 90

Just asking for suggestions before I take it to the dealer. Was running but shortly after running it died. It wants to start and will from time to time, but won't idle long. Replaced the plug and removed the air intake hose and manually choked it. As I was moving my hand around it started but died again. It seems like it may be getting too much air. This is my first Polaris and am not familiar with the auto choke. Could it be a problem with the choke, does the carb need to be cleaned, or what. I am open to suggestions. Also is it possible to put a manual choke on this bike? Thanks

I have the same problem with my mini's from time to time. I completely disasemble the carb and clean it well, and spray all the passageway good and that should fix your problem. A new fuel filter wouldn't hurt also.

That is kinda what I was thinking. I can hold my finger over the air intake tube and it will start, run a minute and then when I take my finger off it dies and will not start. Thanks

I am having the exact same problem, runs while I have the air intake plugged, dies when I remove. I have had the carb apart three times cleaned with carb cleaner and blew out with air hose. No luck yet. How did you get yours fixed?

Yes EF you can get a Eton 90 manual choke for it. I hate those stock carbs on those things. If you get a 20-28mm keihin or a 20-28mm OKO carb you'll not have any more carb probs and it will run sooo much better.
