Extended Swingarms: Anybody Using One???
#1
Part of my "Project Super Possum" is to extend the rear swingarm for clearing 28" Outlaws on the Scrambler.
I know extended swingarms can be bought, but I think I can extend my factory one if I knew exactly WHERE on the swingarm they made the extensions....
If anybody has one, and doesn't mind taking a few measurements for me, I would greatly appreciate it...

You need to find someone with an AAEN swingarm. His are factory arms that he merely extended. Hot Seat and FTR make every arm as ordered by hand.
I've got a Hot Seat +3" on my 400. While I have never been a fan of their (HSP) products, the quality of the swingarm is top notch.

Thanks for the Reply..... ANYBODY got an AAEN SWINGARM??????
How do you like the HSP swingarm? Were you able to reuse the stock rear end parts, or did you use a different axle/carrier? Did it come with the new swingarm bearings? Cost? Did the HSP swingarm use the factory chain slider or is it updated with a more durable part?
I am thinking that I can build a bracket to mount where the factory slider goes that will house several chain ROLLERS (like used on the 400EX and dirtbikes) that would be more durable and A LOT more accurate.

The Hot Seat swingarm looks great. My Cost was around $300 (through a friend). I think they retail closer to $350. I had mine powdercoated red, they come plain (no finnish) or black. It utilizes the factory carrier, axle and all bushings. But not the slider. Even with a concentric drive machine I will probably add a chain tensioner as a precaution.
3" longer, bright red, and 8lbs lighter. Best of all it keeps the front end down on hard launches!
